Morning Star Lake Campground is located in the Tahoe National Forest at an elevation of 4,050 feet. Morning Star Lake was originally constructed in the 1870's as water storage for early, California gold miners. Now, this beautiful lake is home to trout, bass and catfish that are waiting to be caught by campers. Please take the time to browse through our web site, and we hope to see you soon. |
Camping....
Morning Star Lake Campground has approxiamtely 100, individual campsites and two, large group campsites. All campsites have fire rings and bar-b-ques, and firewood is available for sale. There are no hook-ups; however, loboratory tested, well water is provided through several taps, conveniently located throughout the campground. A dump station is also provided, free of charge, to all campers. No electricity is available in the campground.The campgound offers FREE HOT SHOWERS for all campers. There are several, well maintained toilets located throughout the campground. For the convenience of our campers, the campground maintains a general store that sells fishing bait and supplies, soft drinks, beer and food items. |
Don't Want To Camp? Come up for the day....
Morning Star Lake is located approximately 1 1/2 hours from Sacramento and less than 2 1/2 hours from Reno. Come up for the day and enjoy fishing, swimming and non-power boating. Paddle boats and fishing boats are available for rent or bring you own non-power boat. |
Fishing....
Morning Star Lake is home to Rainbow Trout, Black Bass and Catfish. Rainbow Trout are stocked on a regular basis.
Morning Star Lake is privately owned, and a fishing permit must be purchased from the campground office. A California fishing license is not required.

Email is received by the webmaster, and the webmaster does not have any of that information. All sites are rented on a first come, first served basis.
